When the Heart of the Sun Meets the Heart Within

A Lumina Reflection on Coming Home

Sometimes the universe has a curious way of whispering to us. A few nights ago, long before dawn, I found myself unexpectedly awake. Something gentle seemed to invite me to look towards the sky, not through a telescope, but through the stories humanity has woven around it. I discovered that on 29th July, two remarkable celestial events coincide: a Jupiter cazimi and a full moon in Aquarius.

Whether you see astrology as literal, symbolic, poetic or simply another way of contemplating life, I found myself less interested in predicting the future and more interested in the question these events seemed to ask. What if this is an invitation to remember?

The Heart of the Sun

The ancient astrological word cazimi comes from an Arabic phrase meaning in the heart. It describes the rare moment when a planet sits almost exactly in the heart of the Sun. Ancient astrologers imagined this as entering the King’s throne room. A planet close to the Sun was considered overwhelmed by its brilliance, but a planet resting in the exact heart of the Sun was said to receive the King’s blessing.

This year, that planet is Jupiter. Jupiter has always symbolized expansion, trust, wisdom, generosity and possibility. The Sun represents our life force, identity and the quiet radiance of simply being ourselves. Whether we understand this literally or metaphorically, the image is beautiful isn’t it? It is as though expansion itself sits quietly within the very heart of life.

Another Way of Looking at the Same Sky

One of the reasons this moment intrigued me is because it reminded me of the work of independent researcher Miles Mathis. Miles proposes a very different cosmology from mainstream physics. In his model, the Sun is continuously emitting not only light and heat, but also what he describes as a universal charge field. Planets are not passive objects drifting through space; they continually exchange this charge as they move within the solar system.

According to his work, when a giant planet such as Jupiter aligns closely with the Sun, it becomes immersed in one of the most concentrated expressions of this solar charge. Miles might describe this celestial geometry as Jupiter entering an intensified field of solar charge. He speaks of energy, whereas traditional astrology speaks of blessing.

For me the deeper invitation remains for us all to remember that we are participants in a living cosmos. Perhaps this period of intensified solar activity, which I strongly feel, is more than an astronomical event. Perhaps it is an invitation to become more conscious… more awake to ourselves, to one another, and to the living Earth that hold us.

Miles’s work has always resonated with me, because for a long time I have carried a quiet feeling that we are not separate from the universe around us. Just as the Moon shapes the tides, the seasons shape our bodies, and sunlight regulates our sleep, I have often wondered whether the greater rhythms of our solar system influence us in ways we are only beginning to understand.

Reading Miles gave language to something I deeply sensed. His exploration of the Sun as a continual source of charge, flowing throughout our solar system, offered me another lens through which to contemplate the living relationship between the heavens and the Earth.

You can read more here and here, about how the action of the sun and solar flares are affecting the Earth and Humankind. We find ourselves in solar maximum and these last few days have been no exception to the Schumann Resonance spiking due to these solar flares; electromagnetic energy affecting our bodies, creating a sort of cleansing effect. Inviting humanity to awaken from a deep sleep. Have you been feeling exhausted and maybe inspired too?

The Other Half of the Sky

On the very same day, the Moon stands full in Aquarius, directly opposite the Sun in Leo. Leo asks a timeless question:Who am I when I allow myself to shine? Aquarius asks another: Where do I truly belong?

Perhaps these are not two separate questions. Perhaps they have always been one. The more fully we become ourselves…the more naturally we discover where we belong.

Coming Home

Over recent weeks, here at Lumina, we’ve been exploring the meaning of home. Not simply finding a new home. Not building a community. Not even creating a sanctuary. Something quieter. Something deeper.

What if home isn’t somewhere waiting for us? What if home is a relationship we finally remember within ourselves? I’ve noticed something changing in me as I look forward to settling into a new home… I realise that it’s not about us shaping a new home and land, but the home and land shaping us too.

Challenges refine us. Leadership itself quietly changes its meaning. I once thought leadership meant carrying everything. Now it feels more like creating the space where everyone belongs. Including ourselves.

We Already Belong

Whether we look through the lens of astronomy, astrology or physics, one truth feels impossible to escape. Every atom in our bodies was forged inside ancient stars. Every breath we take has passed through forests, oceans and countless other living beings. Every heartbeat depends upon the energy of our Sun.

We spend so much of our lives trying to earn belonging. Yet perhaps belonging has never been something to achieve. Perhaps it has always been our nature. The trees never wonder whether they belong. The birds never apologise for singing. The earth has never questioned whether we deserve to stand upon her.

Maybe the deepest homecoming is simply remembering that we were never separate from life in the first place.

A Lumina Ritual for 29 July – The Ritual of Coming Home

Find a quiet place outdoors if you can. Stand barefoot upon the earth. Place one hand upon your heart. One upon your belly. Close your eyes. Feel your breath. Simply receive it. Imagine the warmth of the Sun reaching your skin. Imagine the earth beneath your feet holding you without asking anything in return. Stay there for several minutes.

Then ask yourself, slowly: Where have I already come home without noticing? What already belongs?

Allow memories to arise. Moments. People. Places. Qualities within yourself that have quietly become home. Then gently whisper: I no longer need permission to belong. I have always belonged. I am home.

If you are with others, gather in a circle. One at a time, each person steps into the centre. Simply say: I am here. The circle replies together: Welcome home. Nothing more. Simply allowing another human being to be seen without needing to become anything else.

The Heart Within

Perhaps the greatest gift and blessing of days like this is not that the heavens somehow change us. Perhaps they simply help us remember. Sometimes the sky becomes a mirror. The Sun reminds us of the light already within. Jupiter reminds us that trust can expand. The Moon reminds us that individuality and belonging are not opposites.

And somewhere between ancient astrology, modern astronomy and the imaginative explorations of thinkers like Miles Mathis, another possibility quietly emerges. Simply wonder.

What if coming home has never been about reaching somewhere else? What if, all along, it has been about recognising what has always been quietly waiting… within the heart of the Sun, within the heart of the Earth, and within the heart of ourselves?

A Final Blessing

We live in extraordinary times. Around us, familiar structures are being questioned. Systems that once appeared permanent no longer feel certain. Many experience this as chaos, confusion or loss. Perhaps that is part of every great transition. When old ways of relating no longer serve life, something new quietly asks to be born… through greater consciousness.

Whether we look to the sky, to nature or to our own hearts, every genuine awakening begins in exactly the same place: A moment of seeing what we could not see before. That moment is a blessing. Because it allows us to meet challengesdifferently.

If astrology is right, Jupiter’s journey through Leo begins another twelve-year cycle of exploring courage, generosity and wholehearted living. Whether or not that symbolism speaks to you, perhaps the invitation remains the same.

May the coming years not simply bring us more success, more certainty or more comfort. May they bring us deeper awareness. May we remember that freedom without love becomes separation. Love without freedom becomes control.Together, they become belonging. And perhaps that is the blessing hidden within every age of transformation.

The way you’ve woven together ancient astrology, modern astronomy, and Miles Mathis’s theories of solar charge feels like permission to hold all these truths at once, that wonder and science aren’t opposites. But what truly moved me is this: you’ve turned a celestial moment into an invitation to remember we’ve already arrived. That home isn’t somewhere to reach but something to recognize. The ritual you offer, simply standing with one hand on heart, one on belly, and whispering “I no longer need permission to belong” that’s radical quietness. Not performing transformation, just allowing it. Thank you for reminding us that the Sun’s blessing was never external; it was always reflecting what already burns within.

Thankyou so much for your wise and loving words… resonating with how IAM myself fully understanding my small place in the world. I say small, because I’m looking out on the most wonderful scene of giant mountains, sea in the distance and the lull of the evening settling in.
Alliwing transformation or are we allowing ourselves to remember the wholeness of who we truly are, here and now. Being the oneness, the divine blessing and the single thread journeying here on earth through our experiences. Sending you love💃❤️

It has indeed been a powerful journey to find that connection Barbara. From a land unknown until we know it. A lifetime of experiences to find that awareness of who we really are beyond it all, and to find the beauty we at first can’t see. It is a light filled path my friend, daring us to take a step a little further as that light opens the path some more to share another discovery. Great post kind lady, thank you for sharing yours 🤗❤️🙏

I accept the invitation to become more conscious… more awake to ourselves, to one another, and to the living Earth that holds us. Ah, awareness … such a gift!

What a beautiful and profoundly inspiring post Barbara. So much of it resonated with me. “What if home is a relationship we finally remember within ourselves?” Yes indeed! For a few years now I’ve felt the definition of ‘home’ changing, expanding, as I keep journeying through new experiences, both on a physical and a not so physical level, becoming ever so untwined with simply who I am.

Everything affects us; challenges, successes, hardships and joys. Both the spiritual, the physical and the tangible. As I write this the sunshine warms my face, the sound of birds makes me smile and the fresh, crisp air and green hills does something to my soul. Maybe the answers lie in remembering our connection to it all, mother’s creations and blessings. Thank you my friend for reminding me of our innate belonging. A beautiful heartfelt post. Sending lots of love your way. ❤️🙏

Thankyou so much Miriam for resonating and for your kind presence here and words. Isn’t it fun, this home coming… The more peaceful we become, the more it makes us feel wise!😁 Learning to accept it all, has been my most useful remembering, and this remembering allows you to tune into the more of who we truly are. And we can remember we are the blessing, shining brightly for others to remember too… if they will. Are you back home now? I must catch up on your travels now I have wifi installed. Much love x

Yes, we’re home now Barbara. Well, as “home” as we can be, looking after someone else’s farm. Trying to acclimatise to the cold after two months of warmth but still, making the most of the peace and the clean air for a couple of weeks before we head north in our van forwards warmer weather. Much love back x

Share your love ... thank you x
